Didn’t you use to have that on the other side?

“There are 12 bodies”

“TWELVE?!?!”

Can’t go wrong with either.

We exchanged our usual Tuesday night Broadway in Austin tickets for Thursday so that we wouldn’t miss any games. Oops, foiled again.

Obviously no. I did not know that was a (new?) criteria. I thought they were still using the age-old model of trying to get playoff games in no matter what if at all possible.

Footer got the bat signal.

Sorry. Got hung up in customs. For the first time ever. I “fit a description”. Which is funny if you’ve ever seen me.

I do not know if the Astros think so, but I consider tomorrow a must win. I do not want to go to Game 5 needing a win to get it back to Houston. I do not know Ranger Suarez from Adam’s off-ox, which one of our lawyers used to say, but I do know his FB is 99.

He struggled to find strikezone against ATL but weaseled his way out of a few innings with DPs and chasing at the plate by the opposition. If we can be patient, we should get a couple shots to put up a crooked number.

Exactly

For some reason I thought Suarez threw in the low 90’s and not upper 90’s. He looked very hittable to me.

According to baseball savant, his 4-seam fastball averages 93.2 mph.

I was going to say, I don’t think 99 is right.

I honestly haven’t seen him pitch that much. That’s just what I found from those who track that sort of thing.

Not to mention a very ugly playoff game vs the Dodgers in 78.

I got that 99 from the gun/board at Minute Maid. I do not have a radar gun.

Rapid drying in the mid-levels taking place in Philly now with clearing moving in from the SW. There may be one passing shower thru maybe 3pm but it should be very nice by gametime. Woo!

Just a quick look shows he’s a pretty average pitcher.

Averages 5 1/3 IP and 88 pitches per start.

62% strikes.
21% K rate ( MLB avg 22.8%)
8.2% BB rate ( MLB avg 8.5%)
.317 OB%
.396 SLG
.297 BABIP

More ground ball heavy than fly ball.

NLDS game1 @ ATL.
3 1/3 IP 86 pitches 46 strikes
3 hits 5 Ks 5 BB 1R 1ER 1HR

NLCS game 3 in Philly
5ip. 68 pitches 44 strikes
2 hits 3 Ks 0 BB 2R 1 ER 0HR

Game #161 @ Astros
3 ip. 67 pitches / 37 strikes
7 hits. 2 Ks 2 BB. 6R. 6ER. 3 HR.

The Astros bats have been stymied more than one pretty-average-looking pitcher in the past.

The first person to mention Sterling Hitchcock gets a punch in the face.
