He’s gone at least 6 innings in 13 of his starts, and he’s had some 4-innings or less too. They didn’t use him in the bullpen until the Postseason though, where he’s pitched a lot. He went 3.1 innings and 5 innings in his two Postseason starts so far.
I don’t care what pitcher gets pushed to where. We have one hell of a team no matter and it’s good enough to win 3 out of 5 no matter how you mix and match. Good guys have to carry this out, but it can be done rain out or not.
Also, I think this helps our bullpen. Abreu threw 30+ pitches on Friday and Montero pitched both Friday and Saturday with 30+ pitches in the latter. I know both probably could have pitched tonight with the day off but can’t hurt in term of them both being sharp and being able to go 30+ again if needed.
