World Series 2021

So a side note to tonight’s game…this is probably the last game ever where the pitcher will be required to bat. Other than a 2-way player such as Ohtani, Framber may take the last at bat for a pitcher in baseball history.

Btw: every Game Zone I have started this World Series the Astros have lost. I am not starting any more. If you want a Game Zone, someone else will have to start the thread.

I am sure someone will step up.

I’m not even watching any of it. If I’m not there in person it’s not good.

I probably won’t watch either. Not because I don’t care. Just because.

I could not stay away from watching a WS game.

Me either. I’d watch even if I didn’t care.

I’m not watching because I care. That may not make sense but it does to me.

Makes sense to me in the regular season. I convince myself I am bad luck and turn it off. Not the WS, though. They are stuck with me.

And no other Mexican born player has won more than 1.

Way to go Urquidy.

The Astros’ leadoff hitters

Dusty says he may start Luis Garcia in game #6 on 3 days rest.

I think that would be a mistake.

Luis has been much better on extra rest. Starting him on short rest would scare me.

I would start Odorizzi

He hasn’t pitched since 2 1/3 shutout innings ( 1 hit 0 walks) and 42 pitches in game #1.

Start him, hope he is effective for 3-4 innings. That’s all that could be hoped from Luis on 3 days rest anyway.

Then, at least, he is fully rested if they can get it to a game 7.

After a day off and elimination game all arms will be available but some notes:

Graveman threw 37 pitches in game 5 but didn’t pitch game 4

Stanek pitched all 3 games in Atlanta but none over 15 pitches.

Maton threw 29 pitches in game 5 after 17 in game 4.

Pressly threw 33 pitches in game 4 but had games 3 and 5 off as well as off day.

Urquidy only threw 14 pitches on 3 days rest in game 5 so could be good for a couple of innings.

Grienke threw 58 pitches in game 4 so might be able to throw on 3 days rest in game 7.
