I truly think he can be a righty Matt Carpenter: tall, late-blooming versatile infielder with a great eye and more power than he’s shown in the minors.

Former Astros farmhand Patrick Sandoval is on the mound for Mexico and threw a good first inning, including a strikeout of his stateside teammate Ohtani.

Two two out dinks into left field followed by a three run tater. Mexico takes a 3-0 lead. Still two outs in the top of the 4th.

I believe that he can be posted once he’s 25 and that is the expectation

Wow! Japan has a great team but I was hoping Mexico could pull off the upset.
