Trade Deadline Possibilities 2021

Speculation or you saw it? Mets should do that and move him to second when Lindor comes back.

Saw it

Passan says it’s being finalized.

Glad to see that Toronto is not throwing in the towel. Increases the likelihood that the Yankees’ season ends in early October.

Angels shopping Iglesias, Tigers discussing Fullmer

On MLB Network, Rosenthal saying Gibson and Kennedy to the Phillies.

I would be intrigued by Fulmer, former big big prospect who seems to be finally recovering from Tommy John and still has team control through 23. Not sure he moves the needle for this year though. Iglesias probably would

Would have been a good get.

If the Astros could figure out how to get Iglesias or Michael Pineda/Kenta Maeda from the Twins and move Raley or Baez’s contracts to offset going over the luxury tax, if need be, that would be nice.

Screw the tax

Gibson to the Phillies

I’m sure I can ever remember a trade deadline with this many big names moved. Can anyone else?

with Kennedy

It’s not my money, so I don’t care about the tax as a fan. I was just speculating on ways to get under, if necessary. Plus, I wouldn’t mind not having Baez’s $5.5 million on the books next season.

Need to see him pitch first

Some amusing nonsense: Bob Nightengale fell for a fake Jeff Passan account and reported the (false) story that NYY were getting Bryant. Passan sounds pissed.

The Cardinals just traded for J.A. Happ, who has a 6.14 ERA.

I would love to see Maeda and Buxton.

That would be the splash to deflate the A’s and Yankees

What would it take?

Straw/McCormick, Urquidy/Javier, Nova, Solomon, Daniels?

Maeda’s contract is incredibly friendly, too. He only makes $3.125M in both 2022 and 2023.
