Are the Cubs sending another piece in the Kimbrel deal? That price looks high, but maybe I am just thinking Madrigal is better than he is.
Edit: forgot about the ‘22 option. Steep price but not nearly as insane as I was thinking.

I agree.
but World Series win odds are listed too
I just wanted to be able to look back at this after the deadline and I wasn’t sure if I could see previous info on the site.
Kimbrel elsewhere does not hurt me at all. Nice to have him, maybe, but I think we are ok. My #1 hope was SP. I think our rotation has too many ifs.
Still a few starting pitchers out there.
My thinking too, but I don’t see a difference maker out there. Depth move only who gets pushed to the bullpen at crunch time is what it looks like to me. Michael Pineda or someone along those lines.
I see the White Sox as our biggest AL competition. Seeing him fill their bullpen need is what hurts.
Then if the Astros- White Sox meet in the playoffs Chicago just can’t get a lead.
Sweeping then in the ALCS would be poetic justice.
Totally out of our control, which triggers my “I do not worry about what I cannot control.”
Lots of competition in the AL, imo. The end of the season for both the NL and AL should see a lot of races down to the wire.
It hurts, but the reality is there are four elite teams in the American League this season, and all of them are talented enough to get to the World Series (Astros, White Sox, Rays and Red Sox).
Who is Madrigal who went for Kimbrel?

He’s a 2B with elite contact and OBP tools, but lacks power. Former first-round pick. Made his MLB debut last year.
Thx
Chicago’s new mascot.
Short, full of piss, doesn’t K, mad singles, second base.
#4 overall pick in 2018
Fangraphs has him elite contact, field, and speed
But he makes Straw look like Babe Ruth in the power ratings.
Has been Sox starting second baseman so they will need to replace him.
I see that as a step back overall.
Edit: he is out with season ending injury . Sox picked ip Cesar Hernandez to play 2B
Baez to the Mets
I’m sure the Yankees will get him.
Oakland adds Josh Harrison and Yan Gomes. Not one of the bigger moves we’ll see today, but once again Oakland quietly gets a little bit better.
A’s add Yan Gomes and Josh Harrison from the Nats
