Scherzer is my dream, like JV once was.
I just don’t know that we have the ammo to pull that off
You likely said that about JV.
No, I think I was the idiot saying JV wasn’t a difference maker any more
HIs no-trade clause leverage makes it possible imo IF he’s interested in pitching for HOU and a chance to win another WS.
That is what I think also. He said he will not veto a trade, but he also said no to any trade to NYY. He can dictate where he goes. Houston or LAD? Who else if he wants to win a WS?
I think it’s likely that Scherzer will want an extension to not use his veto
Old news from Boras. He said later he won’t use it.
This can’t make Toro and Smith feel too good.
Hope Verlander gave Toro a nice parting gift. Toro did well for us; just got caught in the numbers
Tucker gave him a gift.
Tucker gets challenged defensively, and sometimes it simply doesn’t work out. I don!t think it’s an integral part of his game.
Nobody is perfect.
Tucker is not an instinctual outfielder. Not his fault.
It’s obvious by some of his awkward plays.
But he tries hard and has performed at better than average level.
These things happen to everyone once in a while.
I’ll take the overall package
Had to see Toro’s HR (Tucker should have gloved it, but Pressley gave him one to hit) this AM. Could enjoy it for him, since his debut did not prevent an Astros win.
Commentary from the oppo broadcast:
“Whata trade, Jerry!
The look on Pressley’s face says it all.”
I will also. A team is lucky to get excellence on both sides of the game, and off the top of my head, I think it is semi-rare. Clemente jumps out at me. For me, Tucker’s improved and productive offense more than makes up for his awkward defense, and one can only hope he learns from last night’s gaffe and from each defensive lapse.
Baby Giraffe is a perfect name for him.
There was this shout-out on twitter…

Pressley’s reaction was funny. “I’ve been giraffed.”
Good for JV! He is a class act.
