Trade Deadline Possibilities 2021

Correct. Though Bregman must be ready to come back any day now.

Someone tell me about Montero. I do not want to know his stats. Does he have a good arm?

I think he does. Strikeout guy but his ERA for his career spanning 6-7 seasons is over 5. His FIP is a little better.

I think Strom has something to work with at least.

Yes, he has a good arm and has had some success in the past. Has historically been a strike thrower and walks not been an issue.

What is this of which you speak?

Maybe another success in the making for Strom? Like Paredes may be.

I trust Strom to turn chicken shit into chicken mole

Montero also gets a lot of ground balls. Not the ground ball machine Framber is, but quite a lot. The tools are there.

Big thumbs up to Click. Echoing everybody else I will miss Toro a lot. But this was a great trade.

Agreed, WB, and Smith is the best of the best as a person who has had a great career.

Bless their hearts.

Hey, John S., I replied to your pm reply.

This is one of those trades that I think happened more when I was a kid: just walk across the field to the other clubhouse. I do not remember the players, but the trade happened in between games of a DH.

Can’t imagine why they’d be pissed to see their best reliever get traded when they’re one game out of a wild card spot. But that’s a them problem.

That’s happened once, in 1922. So yeah, when you were a kid

Just came into here to say, “thumbs up.”

Seems like FTC were involved in that one.

Also, thanks for being solid Astros, Toro and Smith.

Joel Youngblood was traded in the middle of a game, and played for two different teams on the same day. The FTC were involved in that one too.

Same Day, Different Dugout

There is no other word that can be said about this trade than awesome. Way back in 1922, the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs were playing a doubleheader.

After the first game, Max Flack was traded to the Cardinals for Cliff Heathcote. Both teams were apparently fed up with their own outfielders (both were hitless in the first game) and they made the agreement to trade before the second game.
