I wonder how this all would have played out if not for the late 2022 injury. Was the problem there all along, or did that play dramatically increase the risk? I figure the latter but who knows.
My guess is there all along, but the recent injury caused him to say a bit too much.
Are paper routes still a thing? I see no newspapers on any lawns in the morning in Williamson County.

They don’t even print newspapers in Arkansas anymore except on Sunday. If you subscribe, they just give you an iPad and tell you how to look it up online. I guess they still print on Sundays to make money off the supplements; I buy a Sunday paper every couple of years to use as fuel for my charcoal starter.

In the old days, when people read newspapers (even in Arkansas) I was with a company that represented the Arkansas Democrat (then Democrat-Gazette) for national advertising sales. They were a good client…good people. That was 25-30 years ago.

Per ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Cruz has agreed to a one-year, $1 million deal with the Padres.
This doesn’t make a ton of sense to me after they have signed Carpenter. Are they going to platoon at DH? Seems like a waste of a roster spot but it ain’t my money.
Some of the people from the Democrat went on to the Arkansas Times, which has been the liberal alt newspaper for decades. Even they have gone to a magazine type format for print, but most of their content is online of course. The D-G just sends iPads to subscribers now.
