The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

Someone clearly has too little to do during the void.

Not I. I have this little to do all the time.

That’s why we can never be best friends.

Crushing statement by you.

How do you think Olivia felt?

I did not say I hate cats; I said I prefer dogs. You cat people are so unfair.

Reports out now that the Astros are deep in talks with Brantley. Heyman adds that the Astros wanted to make sure that he was healthy and that a deal is close.

First good news since the almost-Vazquez deal.

1 yr, 12mm per Rosenthal.

That would be fantastic if true!

Being reported everywhere.

Super excited. I don’t give a damn if the team makes another move this off-season. Anything added from here on out (Yuli?) is bonus.

If he can swing a bat, that’s enough for me.

Ok, Brantley is the LH hitter. Will he be the primary DH with Alvarez in LF and Abreu at 1B? Will Brantley be healthy enough to play some LF too? CF is the same now with Chas and Meyers or are Crane and the assistant GMs still kicking tires on OFs? Are they still turning over rocks looking for a C? I have read nothing about looking for a P, but I would be.

Woo!!

Always good to bring a professional hitter along.

Which shoulder was it?

Might influence how much LF he plays.

If he’s good to throw then no reason he can’t play LF at home.

His right (non-throwing) shoulder.

I wouldn’t mind an arm either, just for some depth. We are one injury away from some real inexperience taking a major roll in the rotation. I’d like to see us go to a 6 man rotation to preserve the arms some after this long season, and I think I like the idea of Brown taking over the role Javier has had in the bullpen. Long man and occasional starter.

I like Brown in the rotation. My guess is Maton will be the long man at the outset unless he is traded, but never a starter. B. Abreu, Stanek, Neris, Montero, Pressly are formidable. Seth Martinez and Paredes are damn good, but there is no room.
