Something tells me Brown is a lock for the rotation barring a major acquisition or something crazy happening in spring training.
Here’s the Rosenthal tweet

I’m with you, Waldo. I think Brown is going to get Verlander’s spot in the rotation. It’s time to see what the kid has.
Verlander’s spot in the general sense.
Framber is the #1 now.
Yes, of course. I just meant Verlander’s empty spot in the rotation. Brown has a lot to prove.
Glad we have Brantley back and hope he stays healthy. He is a professional hitter who makes a pitcher work. As well as the mentioned LH. I am pretty comfortable with Brown. He has done well, but it also is in limited time. But at the highest level, world series so far.
“Look at me. Look at me. I’m the ace now.”
Justin Turner to he Red Sox.
And plate discipline would set an example for the rest of the team, or perhaps a handful
Excellent news. Strong and balanced lineup with Uncle Mike back in the fold. Still plenty of opportunity to make a move if one makes sense, but no urgent need.
I’d certainly like to see Yuli back.
Their list:
Mancini
Conforto
Eovaldi
Profar
Segura
Wacha
Chapman
Kimbrel
Carpenter
W. Smith
Schwab yesterday said we were talking contract with Conforto. Maybe Uncle Mike’s signing moots that dalliance.
I would check in on Eovaldi. Is he healthy?
No one else on your list interests me.
Do any of you with loads of inside info know if the brain trust has explored trades?
Would like to see Eovaldi in Houston - would make for some nice insurance come trading deadline and provide some protection for the LMJs and Javiers (as he threw a shitload of crucial innings, I believe more than he has thrown in career).
Eovaldi is the Preparation H for inflammation on the staff (apologies, I am a child today).
Didn’t Eovaldi basically say he’d never play for the Astros now? He grew up a huge Astros fan, and wanted very much for them to sign him in 2018. They didn’t, and then he really soured after going a few rounds with some of the Astros players after the trash can thing. He’s basically said it’ll be a cold day in hell before he plays for the Astros at this point. Then again, it’s gonna get pretty cold this week, and money has a way of softening even the biggest blows to one’s ego.
Not quite that strident but he doesn’t sound like a big fan of the organization.
Did not know those things. He apparently does not know what the Red Sox did.
I think he acknowledged that, but maintains what the Astros did was far worse, and has mentioned several times about what a terrible organizational culture and toxic clubhouse the Astros have. Which, of course, is pretty much the opposite of what every player who comes here says. So it may just be butt hurt. Enough money will soothe the butt hurt. It really is Preparation H.
The toxic clubhouse comment is hilarious drivel. Every player who comes here talks eloquently and often about how wonderfully different the Astros clubhouse is.
Nathan Evoldi rests easy knowing he will not wake with two gaudy WS rings on his manly fingers.
