The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

5/160 seems a pretty damn reasonable effort to me

Rosenthal’s compilation of JV’s earnings by his age when earned:

20s: $46.515 million
30s: $271 million
40s: $86.66 million

Yeah, boy. His family always is uppermost in his mind when he seeks a new contract.

Maybe those umps had convinced him to put everything with FTX

Kate Upton has a net worth of $30 million in case hard times are visited on the household

See, I think this is a shrewd move if JV is shooting for 300.

At his age he only has x amount of starts left. Postseason starts are high-stress and don’t count toward his 300, so they are just wasted stress on him. Plus he’s worn out by the postseason and can’t win then anyway.

So, cha-ching! Take the payday from an overachieving team that will get you some W’s to count toward 300, but you don’t have to worry about making worthless starts in October, because it’s the stupid fucking Mets.

Also, fuck the goddamn Mets.

Guessing Correa to the dojers is next

All of these 8-10 year deals are going to be historically bad contracts as they age.

Why is there an assumption that the Mets are gonna suck the next few years. I’m sure I’m missing something, but don’t see what it is.

11/300 with full no trade

Phillies are a large-market team and a real contender next year IMO.

They’ve spent an obscene amount of money to get where they are. They’re a smarter version of the Mets.

Fuck me. Every player from here on out is going to expect more than they were a week or two ago, yes? Happy Good Guys snagged Abreu when they did.

Can’t wait to see what Judge gets. Really, really hoping he goes back to the Yankees.

I appreciate the feedback.

Sorry if my post was disingenuous

I meant “honest " as in the old adage " giving an honest effort” rather than being dishonest.

I feel that the offer to Correa was guaranteed to be rejected and Crane knew it. Some may say he WANTED it rejected but felt forced to make some kind of an offer this is because of Pena’s potential and ability for future spending.

Please please please please happen.

So, with all due respect, wanting one of the 3 best position players in baseball on an AL contender seems either ballsy or ill-informed. If it was NYY vs LAD, then, straining, I can see an all-or-nothing appeal in terms of “WS Champion or Bust,”, perhaps, but if it’s NYY or SFG then the preference is easy for me.

They’re a formidable team full of stars but until proven otherwise the data indicate they will find a way to Mets it up.

There is something extremely funny about this Yankees announcement in the wake of the Verlander and Turner signings today.

Contender? Seems like they were just in the WS? I’d say they are a contender.

Excuse me, sir, I was assured that the Dodgers were too good for proven cheaters.

Ok, but consider this…If the Yanks re-sign Judge…then maybe they still add but I doubt it will be much. Now, lets say Judge decides to sign with SF. I’m guessing the Yankees go crazy and sign 3-5 players. We have faced the Yanks with Judge and beat them before. I’m more worried about what their roster will look if they don’t sign Judge versus what will look like if they do.
