The Void: 2022-23 Offseason

Does one preclude the other?

No, Crane has numerous options

Man, you overthink this shit. It is about money/ego. Nothing else.

I don’t get the interest in Contreras unless they think Lee isn’t ready. He doesn’t appear to be a fit in the clubhouse.
Astros have great pitching, great defense, great hitting and a great bench. Even so, the great clubhouse also has played a large role in the Astros’ success.

What makes you think this? The trade deadline deal that was shot down? I don’t think that applies anymore.

Yeah, I think that’s pretty nonsensical too. If he were a bad fit the team wouldn’t pursue him. They know a lot better than any of us do.

Totally agree.

The pundits say the Astros will not give JV three years. I think I’d rather hear that from Crane before I believe it.

Mariners get a little better again with Wong. Brewers get perennial breakout candidate Abraham Toro and the chance to figure out how to fix Jesse Winker.

They still have Servais.

I’m not sure how, at least from an overall skill/potential standpoint, getting rid of Winker for Wong is an improvement, but apparently Winker soured heavily on the Mariners this year/off season.

Filled a hole in their lineup without making another, the way I see it. If Winker returns to form they may regret this, but it sure didn’t seem like it was going to work in Seattle.

Who is that?

All Iv’e ever read about him is he’s kind of an asshole. Who wants that in the locker room?

In case it wasn’t previously made official, the Astros IG account confirmed Castro’s retirement.

He was a valued Astro.

Good luck to him in his post baseball life.

Hard to believe it was 2008 when he was drafted. Man, time flies.
