I was going to post this on Friday when I first saw it on Twitter, but Iāve been out of town all weekend for a work event in Amador. Anyway, at first blush it certainly seemed like Trump was fucked and couldnāt find a lender to offer him a surety bond.
However, it also sounds like what Trump did is fairly common practice amongst wealthy defendants - i.e. offer a cash deposit directly to the court in lieu of a bond.
Someone did point out that regardless of the reason why, money is most likely from campaign fundraising because bone spur would never deign to use his own money for this and very well may not have the personal liquidity to cover a $5m bond or deposit.
Him not having and/or wanting to to cough up the cash is why I suspected that he tried and failed to get a bond. If heās using campaign cash, itās crime on crime, as it always is with Trump.
Sorry, meant to say PAC not campaign. I donāt know whether the former being the source of the money s illegal or not.
Bone Spur may very well have tried to secure a bond and failed. But it does sound like it isnāt unusual for a defendant to pay cash rather than a bond if they have the means to do so.
Good point. PAC money can be spent on almost anything. As this deposit has nothing to do with Trumpās campaign, thereās probably nothing illegal with it. Just a grifter taking his marks for a ride.
Absolutely right on using campaign cash. I donāt think that is an issue for trump. liked his policies. Have never liked trump as individual. Voting can be like picking the worst of bad choices at times
Like Trump would āneedā to use campaign funds to pay that. He didnāt take money from China and the Ukraine like Biden but Trump is a very rich man. You guys crack me up with your conspiracies and propaganda.
Why you think that? I know plenty of people from Texas who are scared of El Paso, for no rational reason. Itās entirely plausible that some MAGA type from Kentucky might act out like that.
Hell, people get killed these days for simply pulling into a driveway. This story seems plausible.
