Isnāt a bail bond only 10%? So, they pooled $50K from all the family members?
I donāt think it was a bail bond, it was $500k cash. I doubt anyone would be too bothered if Santos had used a bail bondsman.
According to CNN: Neither relative secured the bond with cash or property, according to a court order that was among the documents unsealed Thursday. But Santosā father and aunt āagreed to be personally responsibleā for the congressmanās compliance with the terms of his release, the order noted.
Iāve thankfully never had to be bailed out of jail so I donāt really understand how this works, but that sounds like no money changed hands.
I had to bail out a friend once, and it is a monumental ball ache. Itās almost as if they make it as stupid and frustrating as possible on purposeā¦
So he got a sweetheart deal despite multiple felonies charged. No wonder he wanted to keep it quiet.
