Well, the NFL is the most socialist organization in America.
UBI seems like a no-brainer to me.
I often think of the epilogue to David Simon’s The Corner where he notes that in the Baltimore projects, violent crime was virtually non-existent in the days after the first and 15th of each month, when folks got their welfare checks.

UBI is so simple. It replaces all the complicated federal tax credits for being poor or having children (but I repeat myself). It replaces welfare. It replaces ObamaCare subsidies.
Nothing is means tested, so it eliminates a shit-ton of gubmint brewrokersy. Yep, even Elon gets it.
It allows everyone to plan their finances. It does this without making them fill out a gadgillion forms and spend hours on the phone or in line to collect a measly sum that’s less than they were expecting. Do you exist? Here ya go.
It benefits society as a whole, but to the least of us it offers something far more valuable. Dignity.

They are a payment out as a refund.
