Yankee offensive futility continues with the 2-1 loss tonight to the Rays who are now just 3 games back in the loss column in the AL east. Judge did get #52.
Up 6.5 games.

Cease pitched a hell of a game last night. No-hitter lost with 2 outs in the 9th. Settled for a complete game 1 hit shut out.

For all the weeping and gnashing from the Bronx magnified by the nauseating east coast sports media megaphone, the Yankees are 18-33 since their high water mark of 61-23. A .353 winning percentage. Bad but not historically bad. It’s funny to me that the Yankees fan base expected that .726 winning percentage to continue. They know the holes on that team.
All 26 of ‘em.
That’s not historically bad, but blowing a 15.5 game lead would be.

FTD reached 90 before FTY reached 80.
It’s all a matter of perspective. Have there been worse stretches in baseball history, no doubt. But has there ever been a team be on 120 win pace for 65 games(they were 49-16) and then play like a 57 win team(that .353) for over 50 games? That makes this special
