But he score bad on test
How great are you feeling if you’re the “inventor” of that S2 test…you think the NFL or anybody else is going to be using it much longer?
I’ll admit, I’ve always been afraid of quarterbacks that score poorly on these supposed intelligence tests because so much of a quarterback’s success depends on very fast processing of some pretty complicated information. It has been clear to me for a long time that the great quarterbacks know with quite a bit of certainty where they’re going with the ball pre-snap based on formation and match ups. So, the smarter the better.
Maybe Stroud’s not a great test taker, but it doesn’t seem to take him very long to figure out where to go with the ball.
You need a flat pass? I’ll throw it flat. You need some air under it? I’ll put some air under it. Need sidearm to get around a rusher? I’ll throw it sidearm.

He’s a remarkable player. I don’t follow college football at all, so I had no idea what he was all about and I had no opinion about who was the best player and who would be the best fit. Apparently and much to my surprise they got the right guy. And maybe they got a lot more than the right guy. If he stays healthy and the team doesn’t fuck this up somehow he could be a dominant player for the next ten years.
That throw on 3rd and 17 just now was as good a throw as you’ll see.

Yeah, there after that last pick I thought…in the red zone they had three interceptions, turnover on downs, missed field goal…nobody’s defense is THAT good. But they were good enough today.
Rookie QB had his worst game and still won. I’ll take it.
