Ajax does the same thing and none call them not belonging near the top league.

Ajax are also the richest club in the Netherlands, not exactly moneyball. Ajax don’t really have much choice other than let players go when the bigger clubs come calling and nobody in their league other than PSV even stands a chance of competing with them year in and year out.

My point is, Ajax run their club 100% Moneyball, spending as much on player development as anyone and treating all of their players impersonally, as assets. Ajax openly speak of selling players as a business. It can eerily recall the Dutch Slave Trade.

These Newcastle away kits are hideous. I thought the Everton ones this morning were bad, but at least they didn’t look like they were silk-screened by some fly-by-night guy on a street corner.

They’re based on the Saudi national team kit. So they’re hideous in concept as well as presentation.

I am respecting the ever-loving shit out of that point.

Also, Eddie Howe teams are the fucking worst for play-acting. They’re trained to collapse and roll around based on micro-changes in air density.

We’re seeing a young star being born.

The Haaland/DeBruyne combo is scary. Haaland now has 25 goals in, I believe, their 21st match (hat trick today). Last season’s goal leader had 23 on the season. Haaland has 17 more matches to go. I’m afraid I’m going to have to pull for Arsenal for the remainder of this season, which is bitter medicine indeed.

The Arsenal-Man Utd game was a cracker.

Absolutely fantastic match. For the first time I’ve let my guard down and feel like Arsenal can actually win it all.

Thespians win …

Hard not to feel a little hard done by when half of the Save of the Month nominees were against your team.

And those games finished 0-1, 1-1 and 0-0…
