Wait, Newcastle and Brighton are still in the mix for top 4? I thought that only happened in my Football Manager dynasty.
(Sorry, Limey, but I got Brighton the title)

You are dead to me.
Good for him! He was given an opportunity and he really took it.
The FA Cup 4th round plays out this weekend (if you were wondering where the PL went, well now you know). The opening fixture is this afternoon, featuring the PL’s 1st and 2nd placed teams facing off.
Man City vs. Arsenal at 2pm (CST) on ESPN+.
Best timesink in the world. I love that stupid addictive game. Put way too many hours into every year.
Looking forward to this, should be good fun
They put the touch version out on Apple Arcade this year.
Also, I would pay ungodly sums for a CFB version of FM
Never played it. Do you actually play the games, or just manage the teams and they’re simulated?
You manage the games - so you can change tactics at any time, down to man marking and preferred set pieces, and of course substitutions, but it’s not a FIFA where you’re mashing buttons to control players.
There is not a price that I would not pay for such a game.
You basically do everything outside of actually controlling the players. Transfers, training, tactics, you are the manager. As such you can move clubs, get sacked, take Wrexham to the Champions League, the world is your oyster. Be warned, once you start playing FM, you can’t stop.
Wrong thread.
I’ve seen it suggested that because Arsenal aren’t as deep as City they may have to prioritize between Premier League and FA Cup and play a lesser lineup in this match.
Oh, gee, look at that: Grealish hits the deck. Quelle surprise!
Nice and open match so far. These games are like the Ryder Cup to the regular PGA tour: you get to see what these guys can really do when they’re just trying to win and not protect a league position.
Exhibit N: Trossard just drew a save from Citeh goalie Ortega and, when he went for the follow up, got nutmegged by a defender.
Arsenal are now out of the FA Cup, they were previously knocked out of the Carabao Cup and they didn’t qualify for Europe this season. They are currently top of the Premier League, but they have to play Man City twice (in the next few weeks) so their lead in that competition is also in significant jeopardy.
Those of you that are addicted to Football Manager may want to avoid Out of the Park Baseball.
I’ve played it, and believe it or not, FM has sucked more of my time. OOTP tends to get a little soft and easy in its trades, and the draft system is pretty shitty.
Like MM says, ootp feels a bit shallow compared to FM. I have tried to get into ootp several times, I think I have like 4 different versions in my library, and all of them have less than 100 hours, which is nothing in gaming terms. I wish I could get into it like I do FM.
I think todays result is actually a benefit to Arsenals chances of winning the league. They don’t have the deepest of squads and now they won’t have FA cup games to field a squad for. Man City by comparison, is likely to have 2 games a week more often than not going forward. Should be an interesting end to the season
