Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread

Of course it is. That’s the plan. I’m just saying they can’t gerrymander all blue seats away, they have to minimize their number, and concentrating them in the valley where the GOP is historically less competitive anyway is an easy mark. It’s like MJ…you can’t stop him, you can only contain him.

Reminds me of one of my favorite youtube videos (very NSFW), I’ve never seen the movie quoted at the 1:43 mark, Major Payne:

Apparently, Ted Cruz is going to go through some things.

Maybe a wood chipper? Or is that too much to hope?

The same people making claims about Boebert - who previously dropped a truckload of dimes on Madison Cawthorn - are now teasing that they have something to add involving Cruz.

I am equally intrigued and nauseated.

One fun aside, the Muckraker PAC received a letter from Boebert’s lawyer - not surprising - except that they got a call from Fox News to comment on the letter before they got the letter.

Beto cuts Abbott’s lead from 15 points to 5.

The Jan 6 committee is going to “seek testimony” from Ginni Thomas. We all know how that will go, but it does ramp up pressure on CJ Roberts to clean up his court.

Eastman told Trump that the scheme was illegal.

Sounds like a smoking gun to me.

What can Roberts do? He’ the court procedural administrator, but it’s not like he can fire or discipline one of the associate justices.

He controls the assignments, so he could leave Thomas off the lead going forward unless he recuses on Jan 6 cases.

I think that’s true only for opinions in which he’s in the majority. If he’s not in the majority then the most senior judge in the majority (Thomas, if he’s in the majority) assigns the lead opinion. But regardless of who writes the lead opinion, Thomas would still have a vote and plenty of input, and the opportunity to write a concurring opinion.
