Another Jan 6 hearing that was packed with news and detail, including more of Vanky dishing the goods on pops. They are laying waste to any thought that Trump was a dumb passenger in the coup attempt; he was the ringleader in full knowledge of its illegality.
Theyāre doing such a good job that the DOJ has sent an urgent request for all the deposition tapes and transcripts as they relate to ongoing investigations and prosecutions.
These wheels were grinding slowly, but I get the sense that things are accelerating.

It seems remarkable to me that DOJ is asking Congress for evidence. If they were doing their jobs, wouldnāt they already have all of that stuff?

A possible explanation I saw is that they do not want separate interviews yielding potentially conflicting responses. Apparently that was part of what got Oliver North off the hook. So they want all the interview materials in order to make sure it all jives.
I hope thatās the case. The alternative, as you suggest, is that they havenāt spoken to these people which would be appalling.
Wasnāt DOJ asking for the transcripts at the behest of the Proud Boys, who apparently requested it for their defense? I thought I read that defendants have a right to all Government evidence, not just evidence compiled by DOJ.
Also, Thompson said heās not giving it up til the Committee is finished. I wonder if they Committee is worried that if all the transcripts get to the Proud Boys, then they also go to the right wing media machine, who will do what they always do, distort it and lie about it to muck up the Committeeās narrative.
Iām sure any docs will be in the Fox offices 2 milliseconds after the Proud Boys (& Jerks? PBJs?) receive them.
The fact that the Christian right wonāt even react on guns after church shootings means that they love guns more than Jesus.

I work for an Episcopal seminary and our dean emailed last night saying that two of their staff are alums of our seminary. They are safe.

This is the criming part of it. Heās letting everyone know that heāll āconsiderā given them pardons if he wins in 2024. Of course, he wonāt pardon anyone because he doesnāt care but, in the meantime, a few of them will clam up and take their punishment and thus make any prosecution of him a little more difficult. He tampers with witnesses as naturally as breathing.
The story changes again. I donāt trust any of it.
