This fits in exactly with the train wreck presser last week where Pence was seen repeatedly wiping his nose with his hand, before shaking hands with a bunch of people as the thing ended.
He’s too stupid to keep himself from being infected and too careless not to pass it on if he’s got it.

One thing I’m confused about. They say that the symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and shortness of breath. They also say that 80% of exposed people only have mild symptoms, and may not even know they have it. So, am I supposed to conclude that those three symptoms could ever be called “mild” or something someone wouldn’t even notice?
If mild symptoms are something less than those three things, and are truly something one wouldn’t notice, then preventing the spread seems problematic.
Of course, if there was a readily available test, then we might identify more of the mildly symptomatic population and help against the spread.
I think “mild symptoms” means infected people experience some/all of those symptoms, just of the milder variety: mild fever (99-100F), mild cough, and mild shortness of breath. Obviously any or all of those things can get more severe, such as when you have pneumonia.
And yes, detection is difficult because the symptoms aren’t more severe, thus the virus can spread more easily. If you were running 102+ and coughing up a lung, you’re much more likely to go to the doctor. But if you have a mild fever, a slight cough, and a bit of chest congestion, then you are more likely to assume that it’s just a cold or bronchitis and tough it out because a doctor visit would be a waste of time and a copay.

It also seems potentially troubling from a psychological standpoint that basically 1/3rd of the people in Houston seem to exhibit these symptoms, although I suspect that most are simply allergies, cold, flu season type dreck.
