Inevitable You-Know-Who Thread

I wish the Nadlers the best. I will pray for them. However, that didn’t appear to be confusion. Nadler raced up to the podium, holding his pants while he did. The Jerry, Jery Jerry out of Shiff’s mouth pretty much seems to confirm that Schiff was supposed to deliver that closing. I read that Schiff and Nadler have battled each other throughout the impeachment episode.

Will you insult Nadler for his weight in your prayers too, of are such things just for earthly enjoyment?

Actually, I said nothing about his weight. I know that he lost a substantial amount of weight, which is great. No, that was neither an insult nor was it intended as such. I merely recounted what I saw, and he held up his pants as he scurried up to the podium.

So you were just adding some color to your comments? Sure.

What was Schiff wearing? Did he have control of his suit pants? Did his socks match? Was his tie all the way up?

Limey-for crying out loud. I only mentioned Nadler holding up his pants as he raced past Schiff to the podium because THAT’S WHAT HE DID!!! Don’t shoot me; I’m only an observer recounting the event. You have to admit that the tiff between Schiff and Nadler is funny.

Your protestations are funny.

I guess I just don’t understand the Christianity in promising to pray for someone while insulting them at the same time. Maybe it’s in Leviticus; most of the weird shit is in there.

I give up. You’re trolling me.

Limey, did you know that the same God that gave Mrs. Nadler cancer also gave Mr Happy a sense of humor? God truly does work in mysterious ways.

Reminds me of this awesome take by Patton Oswalt.

Damn, there’s been a full day of bed wetting over Iowa. Sure, it’s a fiasco, but get over it. The results will eventually come in, voters in other states will soon vote and a there will be a thousand fights before a nominee is decided. Waiting hours for results is not a big deal.

This is all part of the problem with letting Iowa go first. I don’t think that will happen again.

Ha. Indeed. There’s always been a rule around here, and it’s to fuck with Mr. Happy. I can take it.

So in ~17 hours we’ve gone from 62% of precincts reporting to 71%? What a clusterfuck.

NEWSFLASH!

Trump acquitted in the Senate. Romney voted to convict on abuse of power but not on obstruction. So 52-48 and 53-47 on the two articles.

Romney’s pitiful interview with never Trumper the despicable Chris Wallace, who’s as obnoxious as his dad was, was unconvincing. He’s a little, angry man. He should have run a better campaign for president. He bought himself a primary challenger and a recall petition. Fuck him.

But do people living in Toledo know that their name hasn’t traveled very well?
And does anybody in Ohio dream of that Spanish citadel?

It’s rough when a “strict Constitutionalist” like Hap forgets that Senators cannot be recalled.

I remember, back in the day (last week), when Republicans were clutching their pearls and reaching for their fainting couches because Schiff quoted a newspaper report that Trump had threatened to put the heads of Republicans voting to convict on pikes.

Then one did, and Trump, Don Jr. and the likes of Hap have been screaming for his head on a pike. :man_shrugging:

I didn’t forget anything. There’s a bill that’s just been filed in the Utah legislature to do exactly that. I didn’t say that the recall petition had merit or was even possible; I meant that only a dumbass like Romney would kick a snake pit for no reason. Why buck the party or the President? And don’t tell me that it was his conscience. There will be energy behind getting the recall petition signed and campaigning by a rival Republican, even if it is of no effect, which, for an elected offical, is not optimal or preferred.

Democrats like Manchin and Jones knew that they were nowhere close to a 2/3 majority, so they opted to not buck Schumer and voted for impeachment. In Manchin’s case, he just got reelected, so the heat is off for a while, and Jones has zero chance of getting reelected against Sessions, so they chose to stick with the party.
