Incoming TX Cold

This article may simply repeat what’s already been posted in this thread but I found it interesting nonetheless:

Edward Hirs, an energy fellow at the University of Houston, said the disinvestment in electricity production reminds him of the last years of the Soviet Union, or of the oil sector today in Venezuela. “They hate it when I say that,” he said.

I understand that the mayor of Colorado City has resigned.

This is the sort of thing that happens when you let pig fucking Republicans run the state for 40 years. No one should be surprised. These necks can’t even figure out how to open the airport. It’s a total fucking disgrace.

At least it warm you up…

Insult, meet injury:

People not on fixed-price deals are getting massive bills in right now.

And when you say massive…like a bill for $50,000. This is not your monthly bill doubling.

That’s a completely unfair assessment.

Some of them are goat fuckers.

Perry thinks we’re all ok with this.

This is up there with Patrick saying that grandma and grandpa are will to die from COVID for freedom.

Perry is a fucking idiot who is badly misreading this state.

Also, I’m watching the ERCOT press conference. I still don’t fully understand the whole Texas energy system, but based on these guys answers, I get the distinct feeling these guys are sacrificial lambs who are playing their part in a fucked up system beyond their control. We should have the Guv and Lt Guv answering all these tough questions, not letting them slide by with their idiotic criticisms of green energy and blaming ERCOT.

This was interesting Twitter read.

Listen, I don’t know what the hell they do up in the Panhandle and I don’t care.

Perry’s an Aggie…where the men are men and the sheep are nervous

Today I’ve seen Art Acevedo and Lena Hidalgo interviewed on national television news casts. Both are very impressive. I’ve been familiar with Art for a while and I loved what Judge Hidalgo said regarding focusing on restoring service ASAP, then focus on how to prevent this from happening again. They both would make good candidates for senate.

It’s notable that those who couple with goats are “off the grid”. Can someone explain how some places in Texas are not on the Texas grid or am I gonna have to do a web search?

Whoa there, cowboy. Hidalgo speaks Spanish. No telling what kind of nefarious plans can be made in that language. See O’Rourke, Beto.

El Paso is not, some parts of North and East Texas are not as well.

I think those were places, all along borders, that had energy network ties to grids in other states when the Texas grid was created. Thus, in order not to have ties with other states and thus, federal regulation, the Texas network never captured those areas.

I have found her to be quite honest. She was bring people to wear masks early-serious pushback and Ed power much said this disaster won’t be over until next week. Makes sense if power plants have gone off line and repairs area needed.

She’s has surpassed my expectations.

Lucky bastards.

DERPCOT is a fucked up agency in a fucked up regulatory environment.
