It’s a little nippley out…
I’ve never seen two lows cover such huge… tracts of land.
Waiting for it to get hooter.
Thanks everyone for keeping me abreast of the situation.
Hopefully the Texas electrical grid doesn’t go tits up.
Jacket weather.
I always wondered what frozen witch’s tits looked like.
Apparently the neighbor behind us doesn’t know how to turn the sprinkler off.
Lost power for a few hours overnight, but otherwise we’re doing good.
My wife woke me up about 1:30 am to tell me the power was out.
So should we add a bitten tongue to the list of your overnight issues?
Nothing got broken, so that’s good.
I made the mistake of telling her that I was leaving the pool pump running, but if we lost power for too long, I’d have to drain the pump and filter. She’s not really up on how long it takes water to freeze. Bless her heart.
A friend of mine has a pool that has a freeze protection mode that runs the pumps when the temperature drops too low. It failed to work last night and now all his shit is frozen solid.

Mine is so low tech that I just turn it on and leave it running. The technology even predates wifi and the internet, if you can believe that. But it does run on electricity, so if that goes, it will not work. Draining everything is a pain in the ass, but nothing compared to replacing cracked pumps and pipes.
Thanks for the clarification. I had assumed your pool pump ran on a geared propshaft from a water wheel down at the crick.

I upgraded last year.
So…busted pipe today. Ugh. Thought I had them all buttoned but, but I guess not. Fixed, and hopefully not as cold tonight, but still a hard freeze. Hope everyone is faring well.
Well — my new heater went out overnight. Down to low 50’s inside before it was “fixed” — just realized it was out again and already at 62. Going to be a chilly one here.
Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Stay warm
I was getting up every couple of hours last night checking things. I think tonight I’ll just shut off the water before I go to bed and get a better night’s sleep.
Hang in there, VB.
