With Cron having moved to Detroit, I guess that moves Sano from 3rd to 1B on defense.

Springer agreed to $21M

Iā€™m happy that the Astros came up $3.5mm and only asked George to come down $1.5mm, which hopefully preserves some goodwill for future negotiations.

Was just coming here to post that.

Whatever you do, donā€™t read the replies to that tweet.

Whoa so late lol - I will delete

may this be the first of many positivies

It would have been a lot more positive if they had reached an agreement for an extension past 2020.
I suppose George is going to ā€œtestā€ the market.

Beltran out now. This is insane.

Maybe they are waiting until a permanent GM is on board before going down that road.

Wasnā€™t sure where to put this, soā€¦

I used to hate the DH when the Astros were in the NL. Now that Iā€™ve been watching AL baseball for some time, and when the Astros make their way to an NL park, Iā€™m like, ā€œreally? we have to watch pitchers hit?ā€ Iā€™m so over the ā€œstrategyā€ of it.

Same. Itā€™s time.

I eventually came around too.

Yeah, Iā€™m over it too.

Cue Reubenā€¦

Reluctantly, bring on the DH in the Senior Circuit. I of course loved not having to bat, so part of me has always apprreciated the DH.

Same here

I always enjoyed the additional strategy it took in the NL with the pitcher batting. Say the pitcher is pitching a strong game and his spot comes up in the 6th or 7th inning of a close game. Does the manager leave him in or pinch hit? I donā€™t mind the DH but I just thought the game was more fun to watch without the DH.

Itā€™s gotten worse as pitchers have become more and more dogshit as hitters. I will never forget Hamptonā€™s AB in I think the fateful game 3 of the NLDS, '99. What a fucking stud.

And weā€™ll forever lose the chance to see big fat tubs of goo like Bartolo Colon hitting his first home run in his 40s.
