I always enjoyed the additional strategy it took in the NL with the pitcher batting. Say the pitcher is pitching a strong game and his spot comes up in the 6th or 7th inning of a close game. Does the manager leave him in or pinch hit? I donāt mind the DH but I just thought the game was more fun to watch without the DH.
Itās gotten worse as pitchers have become more and more dogshit as hitters. I will never forget Hamptonās AB in I think the fateful game 3 of the NLDS, '99. What a fucking stud.
