Cardinal fans have convinced themselves that a .900+ OPS is a reasonable expectation from him going forward. That his home OPS will come down some, but his road OPS will go up as the splits will regress closer together. And that his road will rise more than his home will drop. So .900 OPS figures to be his floor.
I’m just using ‘19 here as a measuring stick, but the Rockies’ 10-year-avg home OPS would have led MLB (home+road), and their road OPS would have been last.
In 1991 the Astros( a very young, inexpetienced team with no chance to contend) gave the starting first base job to a prospect who had never played first, never played in AAA, and only 1 full season in the minors since he was drafted.
Today, he learns firstbase for a full season at AAA to save his service tome.
Great for the Dodgers. Hope this bites them in the ass. I think this is a massive overpay. He’s got a career ERA of 3.90 and a WHIP of 1.26. His best year was a shortened, 60 game, COVID impacted season. This narcissistic clown isn’t worth anywhere close to what they paid him.
What a rare deal: veteran fan favorites swapped intradivision. They both fuck up the Astros, but I think I’ll be more perturbed by Andrus in the white shoes than Davis in Minute Maid Park II.
