Watching that as well, I’m enjoying it. Apple is putting out some good stuff.

Anyone watching The Rehearsal? It’s a mix of comedic genius and a terrifying glimpse into humanity. You’ll laugh your ass off while being completely uncomfortable with what you’re watching.

That sounds excellent

The bonus is a full scale mockup of a concourse from Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Perhaps they should share that vision with Bush Intercontinental Airport, who seem to be struggling with putting an actual concourse together.

I didn’t say it looked modern or impressive but they had a Panda Express. That’s something?

Michael J Fox is going to be in Shrinking season 3. Announced today.

Anyone watching the Studio on Apple? Started out ok, but the last 4 episodes have been really good. The Golden Globes episode is Curb funny.

I have found the series to be uneven. The second (?) episode (trying to film a scene at the fancy house) and the Golden Globes episode were very funny; others have ranged from so-so to boring. Part of my problem is that Rogan gets on my nerves pretty quickly.

My annual Memorial Day watching of Band of Brothers on AMC has now commenced.

I’ve enjoyed the first couple of episodes of Duster.

Just watched episode one of the second season. I am a fan of the fielder method. Brilliant, obsessive, ontological cringe humor.

Just wait. It gets weird.

So far it’s pretty stupid fun, and the music is awesome, and it has Keith David in it.

No complaints.

I’ve been enjoying Department Q on Netflix. Based on a popular Scandi mystery (The Keeper of Lost Causes) and adapted by the guy who did The Queen’s Gambit, with the setting moved from Denmark to Scotland. The season covers the first book in the series, a typical cold case/missing person detective story, very watchable.

Matthew Goode seemed like an odd choice to play the lead based on my memory of the book, but I’ve always liked him as an actor and I think he does a good job here. The supporting cast is really good too.

Thanks for the rec; sounds rather promising. Will have to check it out.

We recently finished to most recent season of Bosch: Legacy.

It was … disappointing.

Very disjointed. Multiple story arcs that were sort of related. And some ham-fisted writing.

Sigh.

Overall, I liked it okay. I thought the whole series, both the Legacy and the original series, were plagued by too many story arcs.

So the introduction of Maggie Q’s character, Renee Ballard, that muddied the final Bosch: Legacy episode, was to setup up the spinoff: Ballard

Ballard, portrayed by Maggie Q, is known for her work in the Open/Unsolved Unit, a cold case division of the LAPD. The character of Renée Ballard is based on real-life LAPD detective Mitzi Roberts, who worked with Michael Connelly on the original Bosch series as a consultant.

Ballard’s background includes being raised on the island of Maui, where she learned to surf from her father, an accomplished competitive surfer. She was hired by the Los Angeles Times to cover the crime beat and later joined the LAPD. The series “Ballard” is a spinoff of “Bosch: Legacy” and is set to continue the legacy of the Bosch universe.

There was an article in yesterday’s NYTimes about why Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix was such a huge hit. I’m an avid watcher, but I figured I was the only one. I’ve been surprised at the start of each new season that the powers that be hadn’t noticed and canceled it.
