I liked The Commitments a lot. I’m a fan of most of Alan Parker’s films. He made a couple of stinkers but most were quite good and of various genres and styles. He made a couple of legitimately great ones.
The Bantr plot has me very concerned.
As does Nate’s reaction to the new coach.
I am going to miss Roy’s take downs of his former Richmond coach at his TV gig, though.
Roy and Keeley now account for at least 90% of the show’s best one-liners. “Holy shit! Let’s go invade France!” was my favourite of the week.
I watched the end of Season 1 last night. When Nate showed up and discovered that somebody else was doing the equipment work, all I could think upon seeing the boot rack was “Holy shit! Somebody cleans their boots for them?”
