Nosferatu is creepy as fuck.

Mickey 17 was quite enjoyable. A lot of the commentary was strikingly real despite being filmed years before. No spoilers but you’ll see what I mean.

Robert Eggers definitely has a style

I’m bummed that his Rasputin miniseries got scrapped (can’t film in Russia) because he sounded perfect for that story, but his next one is a werewolf movie set in 1300’s England, which I’m totally down for.

Based on just Nosferatu, he certainly has an eye for a period piece. The atmosphere and imagery of the movie were incredible, as was the acting by all involved.

One of those movies that I’m very glad I watched but I doubt I’ll ever watch again.

The older she gets, the more she looks like her mother.

Cross reference this to the TV and SciFi thread:

Dear Hollywood,

Please stop with the hooded figure making an entrance then doing a dramatic reveal as they slowly take the hood off.

The first one billion times it worked but now it’s getting tiresome.

So what was the last straw???

Jude Law in Skeleton Crew

I support your position on this subject.
Not that you require such.

Johnny Storm in D&W is the only exception to this rule, because it was awesome and also ripping the piss out of every other hoodie reveal.

Umm…

Nuke the entire site from orbit.

This combines two things near and dear to OWA: Denial League baseball and the River Oaks Theatre: EEPHUS | River Oaks Houston | Dine-In Movie Theatre

Yep. Seeing that one for sure. Just saw micky 17 and its ok.

Eephus was pretty good. Recommended for any baseball fan but especially anyone who has played senior league baseball. It was a little slow, but funny and bittersweet. Little details like the mismatched uniforms from past seasons, running out of game balls fouled off into the woods, sunflower seeds, catcher complaining about his knees, everyone knowing everyone on both teams, shitty field with a huge ditch at the pitching rubber. the writer knew his “denial league” baseball well. Bill “Spaceman” Lee made an appearance (and threw an inning). The entire movie was one game, from the time the teams entered the parking lot to the last out.

I need to check that out. And for the record, I never complained about my knees, but many times have we had to sift through the bucket to find a gamer.

The bucket was also mentioned. Both managers forgot to bring it.

My son is playing denial league this year. We keep threatening to go watch the games as denial league parents.

He texted that he made a double play last week, that he made a great sliding catch in right field then threw out the runner going back to first. He said the runner was walking. Apparently that just about sums up his league.
