Apparently his wife is due with their second kid around the WBC and nobody wants him to be away for that. I’d say that probably falls under “fear of injury related”, and rightfully so.

I hope the org has a role for him once his playing days are over. He’s done so much to help develop the Cuban pipeline—and that’s just one of the many great things he’s done for the team. First-ballot entrant into the Astros HOF for sure.
