Jeane Dixon’s last words were, “I knew this was going to happen.” Really.

Oh, I know. I was just trying to wrap my head around Jim’s request that Austro negotiate CC’s return while he is up there. I loved having Correa on the team. He was an exceptional talent and kudos to the Astros org for finding him. I am increasingly fine with world-class talent leaving after they hit FA so we get to see the next crop of talent work through the system. Some may have a problem with the Astros being the “farm system”, generating high cost FA’s for other teams but not me. /stepping off soapbox now…

I disagree. I am not “fine” with any of it.

Unlikely to see Correa at all this series. Baldelli said on radio a short time ago that the swelling is still too much for him to grip a bat or throw. Said short retroactive IL stint is likely.

Correa to IL

I’m not in the, Fuck Correa, camp. I wish for him nothing but good health as long as he sucks it up when his team plays the Astros.

ETA: I wish for him nothing but a speedy recovery.

Weird/cool stat of the day. Robbie Grossman just broke the all-time record for consecutive games played (401) without an error. https://twitter.com/mlberrors/status/1524158428473700352?s=21&t=yMIhLURRbV2qmwn7oCN1-A

I could have sworn I saw him make one a couple of weeks ago.

His last error came in 2018

That was the play that led to the Twins’ crazy 9th-inning comeback. If I were the scorer I sure would have called it an error, but I guess they didn’t.

I forgot that was Grossman. 100% an error.

Speaking of something else, as a bus-watcher it is great to see so many former Astro bus-riders do well in MLB even if for other teams. Grossman and Gilberto Celestino come to mind from recent games.

This is awesome. He always did have a great smile.

He hit maybe the hardest-hit, fastest-out home run I’ve ever seen. Back when we weren’t very good, of course, and before they measured those things, I think. Want to say it was off the White Sox or Blue Jays. A tall line drive to left that got out in the blink of an eye and then caromed around all over like a motherfucker for a bit.

I remember him smashing one over the tracks that looked like it was still elevating when it hit the wall…
