Better than Texas? Are you kidding?
We’re talking Elon Musk, not me. Who knows what he thinks of either.
We’re talking about engineers chasing tail. I.e. a total hypothetical.
Speaking of Elon, my Starlink just went up another $10 a month. But it’s a great service so I guess I’ll just pay it.
SpaceX is too valuable a resource to be run by a freak like Elon; we’ve got to get it away from him.
This doesn’t look great.
Tesla has been beaten to market by half-a-dozen electric pickups, despite being the first to announce. And their - still not available - truck can’t even drive over a curb.
“Cybertruck” will be this generation’s “Edsel”
Except you could actually buy an Edsel.
The market doesn’t seem great for electric pickups right now.
Because EVs in general have been in the luxury price bands, it’s going to be interesting to see how they fare in a high interest rate environment.
Note: This guy poo-poos EV demand because it’s only a fraction of the overall market. That’s like saying that no one wants a Ferrari because they only sell a few hundred a year.
I see them all over the place when I am here in the (upmarket) MD suburbs of DC. Heck, there’s two just in my neighborhood.
I’ve been seeing a Rivian SUV most mornings on Allen Parkway. I like it better than the truck.
The truck looks bizarre.
7 seats, 0-60 in <4 seconds and 400 miles of range. It’s a pretty sweet ride.
Yep, mine should be delivered in October.
Again…what can they tow, what can they haul?
This is what I’m waiting for.
Oh, I should be clear. In the suburbs, they are a status vehicle. And for running to Home Depot to get mulch.
This is good news.
This was yesterday.
Compare the unsteady, slow amble of the Tesla bot to, say, the Boston Dynamics bots.
This lady has definitely been touched by the Arizona sun, but she’s a legit car nut and restorer, and her reviews are typically entertaining.
The Lucid Air is totally badass.
A couple of comments. Boston Dynamics has a massive head start. I would not underestimate Tesla, though. They have an advantage as a follower in that their learning curve is much shorter. Despite the Musk drama, Tesla really has excellent engineers working on their robotics. To drive the point home, take a close look at the hands of the Tesla bots as they work. Boston Dynamics bots have nowhere near that level of dexterity. It is really quite impressive.
And, how creepy is that; bots making bots. Yikes.
