Electric Vehicles

Dear Lord!

If I had a spare million or three laying around, I know what I’d do.

I’m thinking that if it goes under $100 retail investors will start buying.
However, if Musk has to keep selling larger and larger volumes of Tesla stock, who knows where the bottom could be.

Closed at $109, down 40% this month. Yikes!

ETA: It’s continuing to fall in after-hours trading. Down to $107…

Have seen numerous comments that Kia dealers are currently the worst for charging mark-ups over MSRP. Up to 20% routinely on some ICE models. While this is the product of a broken retail sales model, it also speaks to the popularity of Kia’s line-up that people will pay over the top to get one.

This does not include the wildly popular EV6, which is in very limited supply and probably requiring at least one arm and one leg to get one. I won’t be getting a new car until 2024 (probably), but the EV6 remains at the top of my list (AWD GT-Line). There are a ton of new models coming out in 2023, though, so I’m hoping that a combination of improved production numbers and competition will clip their wings.

I’m looking at you, Chevy Blazer…

This reminds me of someone…

Hasn’t he resigned as CEO yet?

Not that I’ve seen. But I do get most of my news from Twitter…

Not until he finds a replacement.

What are the chances the a narcissist is going to find someone who can replace him?

Congrats.

Damn, you hate to see it.

2022 not a good year for billionaires. In terms of net worth percentage loss, Musk’s 51% was eclipsed Zuckerberg’s 75% and almost matched by Bezos’ 46%.

Wow. I wonder what percentage of all that loss vanished in terms of share value vs. leaking out elsewhere. Or is that maybe a naive question?

They’re still billionaires though.

Apology if this has already been posted, but if this is priced reasonably it will annihilate the competition:

That’s a decent looking baby SUV. If they get the battery/charging technology right (e.g. Toyota’s BZ4X won’t charge in the cold and is ridiculously slow in good conditions), this could be a really winner.

Zuck must be grateful to Musk for drawing all the attention away from his disastrous decisions the past few years.

Many people fail to appreciate just how much goodwill and trust Honda has engendered over the past two decades. Even the most jingoist of auto publications concede the Honda Accord is the greatest car ever made.
