I’ve told my dad that it’s amazing how dumb he got in a few short years, then smart again in just as few.
When I was a kid, he was the smartest person in the world. There was nothing he didn’t know, no question he couldn’t answer, no problem he couldn’t solve. I never worried because Dad would always take care of it. It never occurred to me that he might not know how. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized he was probably scared shitless of what I might do at any given moment, but somehow held it together.

Indeed he did. As I have said many times, I watched a game with him once. The boy was nice but intense!
Mark Twain had a quote that went something like this. When I was 16 my father was an idiot. When I was 21 he was a genius. It is amazing what that man learned in 5 years.
I did not see him in that thread. I thought about him though. HD was always nice to me, but I’m a nice person so people tend to be that way to me.

Tesla may well be his legacy.
It is a significant entity in the auto industry and got there using electrons as a power source. Pretty remarkable.
But the pile of narcissistic filth he spews forth may make Tesla a footnote in his sordid bio.
