This is so disgustingly on brand it made me wince.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court - who brought you that election day madness from a few weeks ago - yesterday struck down Gov. Eversâ stay-at-home order. They did this by remoteâŚ
TYRANNY!
BOOBIES!
Thatâs probably why there were two of them.
Trump today:
When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didnât do any testing we would have very few cases.
This is gobsmacklingly stupid.
If weâd only known earlier that testing was the cause of the virus, we could have snuffed it out in no time. I wonder if this applies to other diseases. We could wipe out cancer, likeâŚtomorrow.
Who would have thought that the donald would offhand make the greatest medical breakthrough in human history?
Unreal stupid.
He might get a Noble Prize.
We have a president whose brain is so addled that he no longer understands (or maybe never understood) object permanance. Something healthy brains develop before they turn 1.
Trump has ordered the use of an antibody test with a 50% false-negative rate for confirmed cases.
Get back to work, serf!

A Study in Leadership
One knows, of course, that Donald Trump behaves differently from the leaders of other countries, especially the leaders of other Western democracies. One knows that he disdains facts; that he does not read briefing papers; that he has no organizational talents; that he does not know how to make use of militaries, bureaucracies, or diplomatic services; that he has no basic knowledge of history or science, let alone government.
But seeing him in this video, produced by my colleagues in Atlantic Studios, juxtaposed with other world leaders during this coronavirus pandemic comes, nevertheless, as a shock. Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and President Moon Jae-in all speak of evidence-based policy, of the need to take the disease seriously, of empathy and solidarity. Trump speaks of hoaxes, of a disease no different from the flu, of a âgerm that has gotten so brilliant that we canât keep up with it,â of disinfectant as a miracle cure
Even now, even in the worst public-health crisis in a century, he divides people instead of unifying them, creating precisely the kind of distrust that makes the disease harder to defeat. He cannot demonstrate empathy, because he is incapable of feeling any. He cannot demonstrate solidarity, because he has only disdain for his fellow citizens.
Who didnât see this coming:
Texas reports single-day high in coronavirus deaths two weeks after reopening
As the state begins to reopen, Texas recorded 58 coronavirus-related deaths Thursday ââ the highest single-day count since the onset of the pandemic.
The Star-Fort Worth Telegram reports that there have been 116 deaths over the past three days, the most in a three-day stretch during the pandemic.
These fatalities come as Governor Greg Abbottâs stay-at-home mandate expired on April 30. Retail stores have been permitted to open at limited capacity, along with restaurants and salons.
New cases and new deaths both starting to climb consistently two weeks after the relaxation of restrictions.
The new cases isnât surprising as we get more testing going.
However, the new deaths⌠Well⌠yeah.
I would think that a significant number of deaths were for people who contracted the virus over two weeks agoâbefore the âre-opening.â If thatâs the case, then that number will probably be eclipsed in the coming weeks.
100 percent.
I would be willing to bet that the longer quarantine went on, the more risks people were willing to take to get away from boredom.
Not surprising at all that the death total is starting to go up, and probably will continue to go up and slightly down for a while.
The strained relationship between the CDC and the federal government was further laid bare when, according to The Washington Post , Deborah Birx, the head of the US COVID-19 Task Force and a former director of the CDCâs Global HIV/AIDS Division, cast doubt on the CDCâs COVID-19 mortality and case data by reportedly saying: âThere is nothing from the CDC that I can trustâ. This is an unhelpful statement, but also a shocking indictment of an agency that was once regarded as the gold standard for global disease detection and control. How did an agency that was the first point of contact for many national health authorities facing a public health threat become so ill-prepared to protect the publicâs health?
Birx seems like a Trump advisor. Fauci is on a lone raft in shark infested waters.
