Well, he also had hard time explaining the crime of which he’s been accusing Obama all weekend because ooooooooooooh
The “America Leads the World in Testing” sign was one more in an endless string of humiliations he has thrust on this country. I’m only surprised he didn’t have Ivanka unfurl it like she was Vanna White
It was a question about him treating this as a numbers game vs. other countries that lit the fuse for the storm-out. The only thing missing from that was a strip of toilet paper attached to his foot.
A Korean female friend of mine in her late 20’s has made wearing a mask, especially under her chin, her “thing”. We all identify it by her name so yes it can become a fashion statement. Musicians and bands even sell branded masks with their names on them. Typically though its etiquette or for protective reasons from air pollution or even pollen. Also we have a yellow dust season where dust from the Gobi blows across northern China into Korea and some people are sensitive to it. This coronavirus thing was the first time I started wearing a mask living here and at first it felt weird but its no big deal really.
FYI, all 50 US states now have more cases per capita that South Korea.
Trump said 100% would be tested when arguing for back-to-work.
Now that people are headed back to work, Trump flips and says 2% of the population will be tested.
This way, we don’t have too many people off the assembly line and home for two weeks.
Feudalism, transparent.
Yep. And at the same time we know that they have been operating a robust testing and tracking process in the White House, yet the virus is running through that place like Freddie Kruger through a high school girl’s dream.
So even 100% testing isn’t enough without proper distancing and other mitigation efforts. I know that there’s no way to stay 6ft from everyone in my office and there are so many shared spaces and contact points that there’s no way it doesn’t become a transmission vector.
Hey, Limey, would you post a link to the source for those charts? Thanks.
Thanks.
I’m still recovering from shooting up with bleach, but there was an article in the Chronicle this morning that much of the growth right now is in Dallas.
Still, Houston health leaders, expressing disappointment that the area hasn’t experienced a significant decline, warned against complacency that could lead to new flare-ups as the economy reopens. “If you’re making a sauce, we’re simmering, not boiling,” said Dr. Paul Klotman, president of Baylor College of Medicine.
That sauce is boiling in Dallas County, epicenter of the recent state increase. It went from an average of 95.6 new cases a day in late April to 245.7 by May 10. No other Texas county saw such a big spike over the same period of time.
Here is the state’s official data. It’s updated daily around 1 PM.

There are several screens of data/maps, including a downloadable spreadsheet with county by county numbers.
Abbott/Paxton v the Austin Mayor and the Travis County Judge is the next battle over stay at home/mask orders or opening up as Trump wants in his fantasy world.
Trump’s response about Fauci’s comments yesterday was classic bully: “that’s not a good enough answer”. Hey, idiot, the virus doesn’t know who you are, and it doesn’t give a fuck about your “billions” or your TV ratings.
Always trying to catch up.
A MAGA person I know recently called Adler a “despicable human being”.
This was in response to her church pastor announcing that they won’t be hosting live services anytime soon.
Good for the pastor. Not sure the mayor is to blame.
When your fragile liberties are being inconvenienced, I guess you’ll blame anyone.
