Listen until one of your fans pours pesticide on 131 year old oak trees and calls Paul Finebaum to anounce he did it because someone put a Cam Newton jersey on a Bear Bryant statue, your crazy fan base is just playing for second place.
What that episode in the Auburn/Alabama rivalry showed was that the nut fans are in the vast minority. So many Bama fans responded with donations and expressions of disgust at the actions of Harvey Updyke.
You can’t defend the nut fans. You try to avoid them and pray you aren’t related to them.

I have called out Tech fans when they went over the line, unlike the Longhorn faithful who always maintain their violence is justifiable. Perhaps you think more than a thousand fans throwing bottles and threatening the officials is OK as long as they’re wearing burnt orange? I think it’s wrong and it makes you a hypocrite.

Like you said, those clowns are the minority of fans (thankfully). But they reiterate why there are certain schools whom I truly dislike.

It was Steve’s freshman year at UA, actually. He later set the Pac-10 freshman 3pt single game scoring record against tempe normal school that season in Tucson.
Also, the time we played those taint-sniffers in tempe after Bobbi Olson, Lute’s beloved wife, had died of cancer and their student section kept chanting, “Hey, Lute! Where’s Bobbi??” during the game?
