College Baseball 2025

Cool moment in Auburn’s mid week game. Andrew Dutton transferred to Auburn from Birmingham Souther after BSU shut down operations. His brother, Sam has been Auburn’s ace this year. Andrew has coached first base all year.
Auburn was up big on Jacksonville State last night so they put Andrew in to pinch hit. What did he do in his first D1 at bat? He hit a bomb.

Gotta give a plug to my bro-in-law, named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. The Roadrunners won 41 games this year, their first season ever to reach the 40-win mark. They enter the conference tournament this week as the #1 seed.

Congratulations!! Hell of an accomplishment.

UT had better bring their pitching tomorrow: Tennessee just banged out 20 hits and 15 runs against Alabama.

And Jerry Falwell Bible College (Liberty) took out the #1 ranked Aggies in softball action

The first time a #1 team in Softball hasn’t advanced to the Super Regionals

Wonder if he’d have interest in the UH job, which hopefully opens up in a few days.

Coach Hallmark was interviewed last night on the local (San Antonio) ABC station during the 6 o:clock news.

My guess is he would be, but I have absolutely no insight into that.

My alma mater comes from behind in the T9 to defeat tcu in the Big XII Tournament.
Talk about one helluva a grind.

Arizona won the last Pac-12 Tournament and then wins the Big XII Tournament their first year in the conference.

Well done, BatCats.
BEAR DOWN.

In their opening game against BYU Thursday, they hit back to back solo home runs off the opposing foul poles. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of that happening in a baseball game.

Was just wondering about that, after they lost the batter’s eye last year in a lesser storm. Hope they can get it repaired and hope folks are OK. That was as strong a storm as I recall.

I got over 2” of rain in less than 20 minutes. It may have been more because I’m not sure the gauge is very accurate when the rain is coming in horizontally. The water coming off the roof didn’t hesitate at the gutters and was simply flying out into the yard like an insane waterfall. Remarkably, we don’t seem to have any tree damage from the wind, but our trees were swaying around big time. It hailed here, but not much of it was larger than dime-sized, so hopefully there’s no roof damage.

I work just north of UT and it’s a mess from about 51st southward. There are downed limbs everywhere and one of the 100+ year old oak trees on our campus was uprooted. There have only been a few times in my life that I’ve seen a radar image go from red to pink to white to black and last night was one of them.

We’ve been without power since 6:30 yesterday with no timeline on when it’ll be back on in Northwest Hills. Currently sitting in the car soaking up some AC after a warm, not very enjoyable night.

Oof. Sorry to hear that. Take care.

My dog and I relocated to a coffee and beer spot and are currently enjoying the patio and a lovely breeze.

What kind of beer does the dog drink?
