Auburn Swept LSU this weekend for the first time since 1988 (when the first baseman was Frank “The Big Hurt” Thomas). They head to Austin next weekend.
I didn’t realize until yesterday that UT is 28-5ish and ranked #2 in the country. I know none of their players this year.
And they’re doing it without their best player (and probably Day One draft pick) Max Belyeu who’s still out with an injured thumb.
Jim Schlossnagle can really coach.
Aggie is handling the above news with grace.
He can, and he has a lot more talent, and one helluva pitching coach. It’s rare to see a bad pitching performance by the Texas staff.
This…unbelievable.
Some regional host is going to wind up with A&M as their #2. That won’t be fun.
I watched bits of the Auburn/Texas series this weekend. Texas looks pretty dominate right now.
There were two hitters who really stood out:
Jonah Williams for Texas and Ike Irish for Auburn.
Well, Williams just got his first start on Friday, and had a good series, but didn’t Schueesler (sp) have something like 8 RBI in game 2? Anyways, there are a number of other good bats besides those 2 who had good series.
Williams got his first and second starts v Auburn. He also is a 5 star safely in football and will play both. UT’s #1 pitcher hurt his arm 2 innings into his game.
I haven’t heard any further news about that. Is there a diagnosis yet?
I think you mean “dominant.”
No diagnosis but not pitching against aTm.
I said I watched bits - But a guy making his first starts hitting like that stood out. A guy hitting 4 hrs and accounting for just about the whole offensive production for his team stood out.
I didn’t watch Sunday’s game long. By the time I turned it on, it was close to the run rule limit.
Rodeo Clown?
I think it would take a huge effort for A&M to climb to a #2 seed. Not saying they can’t, especially if they win every series the rest of the way and make noise in the SEC tourney, but the latest D1 Baseball projections I saw from a few days ago had them as among the Last Four In and a #3 in the TCU regional.
It would actually be worse if they were a #3, because there would presumably be a dangerous #2 there as well. A regional of death.
Bohls said this morning he’s “considering” shoulder surgery.
If this were the Astros, I’d assume that he’s making plans for life as an amputee.
