Some draft prospects in the game who might be in range of the Astros when they start picking: Stanford starting pitcher Brendan Beck, NC State C Luca Tresh, NC State SS Jose Torres, NC State CF Tyler McDonough, NC State 1B Austin Murr, Stanford 2B Tim Tawa, Stanford 1B Nick Brueser, Stanford RF Christian Robinson
Draft prospects in tonight’s Vandy/Arizona game who are realistic targets for the Astros: Vandy OF Isaiah Thomas, Arizona OF Ryan Holgate, Arizona 1B Brandon Boissiere, Arizona starting pitcher Chase Silseth, Vandy 1B Dominic Keegan, Arizona 2B Kobe Kato, Vandy C CJ Rodriguez, Arizona CF Donta Williams, Vandy LHP Hugh Fisher, Vandy RHP Ethan Smith.
Power numbers for both Bossiere and Holgate are depressed by Hi Corbett Field (the UofA’s home park and also where the Spring Training scenes in Major League were filmed). It’s very comparable to TD Ameritrade Park. I’d expect to their numbers go up in minor league ball.
Hopefully, playing at Hi Corbett means they and the rest of the BatCats will have a hell of a lot success in Omaha. Candy’s pitching is no joke, though.
Along with watching my alma mater give away 2 leads against the tennessee anchors, those fucking whistles were just as downright awful to experience on TV.
Not feeling confident about Arizona’s chances against The Tree in the losers bracket, but a girl can dream.
I’m always for the Big XII. I would prefer the other eight Big XII teams before UT, but they’re the last one in the tournament so I’m rooting for them. Which hasn’t helped at all.
