USF wins 6-4. Got out of a bases loaded one out situation bottom 8.
Yeah, they tried to mess around and blow that game. Liked that their punch-and-judy LFer, who hit .227 and had 6 RBI all year, went 3-3 with a BB and 3 RBI, I think he’ll probably remember that game for a while. One titdbit I noticed, looking forward to the Super Regional, is that their opponents are 56-66 in steals against them.
Dallas Baptist is in the midst of a heck of a comeback. Good for them.
USF won with superior relief pitching.
That was it for the Beavers as the 'ots win 8-5. They’ll play the winner of the Virginia vs Old Dominion game in the S.R.
So UT vs USF is the Charlie Strong Classic or The Battle for Horns Up?
If it’s a horn measuring contest, presumably UT will have the advantage.
Good lord Nebraska’s pitchers just fell apart.
Nebraska vs Arkansas was tied at two with two outs and nobody on in the eighth inning when Nebraska proceed to walk three straight, throw a wild pitch, and give up a three run dinger. Now 6-2 Arkansas going into the ninth.
Huskers may have let this upset opportunity slip through their fingers.
They were so good until—they weren’t.
Who are the piggies playing in the SR?
Never mind. NC State
ODU vs UV ppd Tue.
In the real old days (when I played), the CWS was a true double elimination tournament. If the tournament was plagued by bad weather, like these regionals are now, the CWS could go on for two weeks or so.
The Anteaters have forgotten how to play baseball. Now down 7-0 with two out in the top of the first inning.
LSU upsets Oregon in a comeback 9-8. They play Tennessee in the SR.
Stanford holds off a resilient UCI team 11-8. Stanford had a 7-1 lead after the first inning and it was too big of a deficit for the Anteaters to overcome.
Stanford goes to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech in the Super Regional.
They’ll feel right at home. I can’t think of two more similar cities than Palo Alto and Lubbock.
Just finished watching this. Was a great game.
Yikes! ASU coach fired.
UVA walks off Old Dominion with a solo HR in the 10th
Their DH, who had thrown 2 innings in 24 months, got the start and went 4 scoreless and hit the walk-off.
That was a great game, scoreless through 5, lead changes in the 6-7-8th before UVA tied it in bot8.
Virginia will play Dallas Baptist in the Super Regional. The field of 16 is complete. I’m looking forward to this weekend.
