Cole and FA

Indeed. Isn’t that sweet? Barf.

Nonetheless, reporter gets in that punishment could be harsh.

Simply having the live feed was not against the rules in 2017, but using it to signal the hitter in real time was. The live feed was used for replay, studying the hitters/pitchers, etc. It was not in and of itself illegal. The new rules put in place in 2018, however, do not allow for a live feed, and the permissible feed is on a delay. MLB also now has an official monitor the delayed feed. If they had a live feed after 2017 it was illegal.

Thanks HH and Coach.

That is what I thought the rule was, HH, and am waiting for an admission we did that. So far all we have is Jomboy and supposition.

There is absolutely no way his parents kept that sign for 18 years, and I say that as a parent who has all sorts of useless crap from my kids.

When we got married and my wife moved in, my in-laws foisted upon us all of my wife’s old school papers on us. And when I say “all”, I mean they kept everything going back to kindergarten. Each box had rat and roach droppings in it, and much of it was ruined due to moisture. We saved a couple of her favorite essays from high school and threw the rest away. They were aghast when I told them not long after, and said we should’ve told them and they would’ve taken it all back.

In a world where people can be sentimentally ill enough to fancy the idea of going out to the shed, digging through a box, and admiring the 95 their daughter got on a long-mildewed, rat-chewed spelling worksheet from 1990, I absolutely believe Cole’s parents kept that sign.

Yeah. We finished clearing out my now deceased in-laws home not long ago.

While they didn’t keep every assignment like Waldo laid out, they weren’t far off. I absolutely believe someone would keep such a sign.

Also, fuck the Yankees.

At work we follow the ROT process for purging documents: Redundant, Obsolete, and Trivial. I think this sign qualifies on multiple levels.

I believe it. I just took over for a guy who had been the executive director of the agency since 1985. I am still going through boxes of info. One box that was one he was especially protective of had unopened correspondence from over a decade ago. If is wasn’t important enough to open then, why is it important enough to save!

And I’ve never heard a single reference to wrong-doing in 2018 or later. Has anyone?

Only speculation.

I still wonder if “live feed” actually just means “regular TV broadcast.” What if they were just watching the TK and Blummer broadcast and could see the same catcher signs we all see on TV? Is it against the rules to watch a broadcast of the actual game you’re in?

Again, watching the game is not against the rules. Using any electronic device or video to steal signs and relay to the hitter is. It doesn’t matter if it’s the game feed or a guy in Torchy’s with binoculars and a Dick Tracy two-way wrist radio. You cannot steal/relay signs by means other than player/coach on the field.

See NY Giants, 1951

The Giants vacate the pennant! The Giants vacate the pennant!

The sign he held as a kid had purple letters.

Sign at the presser had gold letters

All of this stuff he is doing and saying now is nauseating.

He’s a real kick in the balls. Fuck him.

If you haven’t read already, stay away from the NY wine and dine story!
