Baseball Miscellany

Stephenson was about to hammer him in the chest. He dropped his arms instinctively to cover. It was a collision, they happen at the plate. That doesn’t mean it was dirty.

In other miscellaneous baseball news…Albert Pujols is hitting like it’s 2006. I wonder how long he can keep it up.

Dusty stood still for the bionic elbow. Macho Man delivered the flying elbow.

I’m old school.

And the People’s Elbow is the most electrifying move in all of sports entertainment.

Goldberg with the spear

The pitcher did his job poorly and then hit a spear? Yep, that’s Goldberg.

Keuchel and the White Sox told Jake Odorizzi, “Hold my beer”.

For those scoring at home: E6, single, single, single, single, grand slam, single, wild pitch, single, single, E6, single. 9 runs, 9 hits, 2 errors, all with no outs.

I counted 10 runs. I feel sorry for Dallas.

Keuchel gave up ten runs, but one of them was in the first inning.

I listened to this while mowing the lawn. It was a nightmare by proxy. Many of those singles were of the seeing-eye or grazing-the-glove variety, and the Chicago defense couldn’t do anything right when they did have the ball under control. Their color guy said, “Dallas has to feel like he’s playing against two teams right now.”

Anderson collected three errors all told in the game.

Stop and get tagged out.

“If you don’t stop and let me tag you, ima gonna publicly challenge you to a brodude fight”

I thought the whole thing was the first inning. My bad.

But does Pham know a guy with a gym?

I didn’t realize that pitcher, who has been kicked off the team, was a UH commit.

For safety or linebacker?

Did he say why he did it? The batter did not seem to be yakking his mouth or celebrating. We did not see the first part of him circling the bases, of course.

The 3rd baseman reaction was priceless.

He must have been mouthing or said something because the second base umpire was moving quickly in his direction as he was approaching third base.

I read the runner said “take that motherfucker.”

What I read this morning…the runner was cursing at the pitcher while rounding the bases, and was warned earlier in the game for the same thing. He has also been suspended two games for taunting. Additionally, anyone who left the NCTC bench is also suspended two games, which was pretty much everyone, meaning they apprently have to forfeit their next two games against Weatherford. The pitcher was suspended 4 games, but has been kicked off the team. The school also said he was being disciplined by student affairs. It’s unclear what that means, but speculation is he’s being expelled from the school. School law enforcement is also investigating.
