I’m not sure how the pitcher running to RF on a ball hit to LF is “outsmarting” the Cubs, but hey…they are the Cubs.
I think it was right at a year ago when the Cubs were the beneficiaries of a horrific Pirates defensive boner so the tables can always turn on you in the Comedy Central.
That was the play where the first baseman inexplicably chased down the batter who turned back to run towards home as two runs scored rather than just stepping on the bag for the third out, right?
