Baseball Miscellany

If and when another team is identified the official MLB stance will be:

"MLB has taken substantial time and used extensive resources to investigate this matter in multiple teams. We no longer wish to look back. Unless this has to do with the Astros, please focus on 2022 and the wonderful entertaining games we will bring you and let the past be. Again, unless it’s about the Astros "

Kershaw perfect through 7 w/ 13K in his 1st start, @Minny, looks like he’s done for the day. Correa got the day off.

Zero chance Roberts was ever going to let him actually go for it in his first start. I would be pissed if I was Kershaw. Perfect games do not grow on trees

Tough call. Kerdhaw’s recent injuries lead me
To err on the side of caution.

I get it.

A perfect game is about the last thing that Kershaw could add to his resume and I, personally, would be very willing to risk injury to get it.

I’d probably make the same call if I was Roberts, I just wouldn’t like it as a player

Every ounce of me wanted him to stay in, but I get it. Perspective from a former big leaguer:

John Sterling makes a boo boo - shocking, I know.

Todd Kalas likes this. Aka Mr. No Depth Perception.

I know Astros Twitter fawns over Blum and Kalas, I find Todd extremely pedestrian.

Kalas is…fine. No one is going to conflate him and Vin Scully, but he’s fine. Ford is a far better PBP man. Blum has gotten better, and I enjoy him now. They’re not the best, but they’re the best we can do.

Great underrated skit

Radio guys have none either, especially Ford.

I am watching the White Sox / Mariners game today and it is extraordinarily entertaining. Jason Benneti and Steve Stone are great company and the broadcast is really innovative.

Also the wind is a massive factor, which is always fun.

Pujols is (or used to be) an unusually skilled baserunner for someone so slow, but boy does it look dumb when he misses a read.
