Baseball Miscellany

Screwed up contracts.

In honor of the Reds making Ken Griffey, Jr., who retired in 2000, their 6th highest paid player this year.

Interestingly, Max Scherzer will be the highest paid Met AND the 4th highest paid National. The Nationals are paying him $15MM to pitch against them in the division.

One of the Reds’ highest-paid players this season will be … Ken Griffey Jr.? (yahoo.com)

Mlb.com published its top 100 prospect lists and the Astros had nobody. Man, the Mariners are loaded.

If nominating were still a thing, I would be tempted to suggest this for a new category called head up their ass posts.

Gosh. Thanks.

ETA: Here’s the link. Top 100 Prospects list MLB Pipeline 2022

And I know that the Astros have no prospects, and the Mariners have lots, but I thought the MLB list was interesting. Fuck you.

I suspect he more meant the list than you personally, Neil.

Or maybe not.

Sure didn’t read that way.

I think a simple “cabrera” would have sufficed.

That’s not even right. The MLB list was just published. The discussion I’ve seen has been about the Baseball Prospectus list.

Well then I’m not sure at all about any of it.

He posted about MLB Pipeline 13 hours ago. Not sure if it is the same list.

Then Cabrera would have been fine, and appropriate.

Perhaps I’m just too cranky this morning (that and “Cabrera” has gotten so fucking boring).

Apologies.

Taken. I see your post, so apologies back.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

Cabrera has a finely established tradition of excellence, and we all love it forever.

So another probably unpopular opinion…the Monty Python bit about paying for an argument is the most brilliant sketch comedy ever written.

That’s an ice cold take. It’s either that or Who’s On First.
