Dodgers had to pay Trevor Bauer $40 million too.

They chose to pay him $40M. They may not have known heā€™d get suspended but they certainly knew what kind of person they were hiring.

Thatā€™s just it, heā€™s not suspended. Heā€™s on ā€œadministrative leaveā€, which means they have to keep paying him. But true, they knew who they were getting. Maybe not that he is a rapist, but they knew who Trevor Bauer is.

This amuses me

Man, it would be so amazing if a bunch of roller hockey chicks made the team find yet another name. The Steamers is the obvious choice, a tribute to the seagoing vessels that once visited that proud Lake Erie port.

That is not the first image I get when I combine ā€œsteamersā€ with ā€œClevelandā€.

The more meanings, the more marketing opportunities.

This is great. I hope they win the ensuing lawsuit and that Cleveland is forced to take up the only name that makes any sense whatsoever; The Spiders.

Nah, the Cleveland Riverā€™s on Fire is probably best.

Thatā€™s funny that they thought $10,000.00 would be a sufficient amount. And by making an offer, they acknowledged the roller derby teamā€™s ownership. Now theyā€™re fucked.

Didnā€™t even think of this. Makes it so much funnier

Cuyahoga Fire was my first choice, Cleveland Spiders 2nd

Twice. Tying the world record for the number of times a body of water has caught on fire. Co-holder? Houston ship channel.

Kinda reminds me of the Ghostbusters fiasco . Although, at least Columbia Pictures had the decency to make a serious offer.

Unbelievableā€¦or believable I guess is more like itā€¦

Now is the time that they break the news that Taubman was reinstated by MLB last year. Still us against everyone else!

Letā€™s not mention any of this for a week or so.

Not that it will matter necessarily, but thereā€™s definitely no there there. He apologized, made amends to the reporter, was fired, is not an Astros employee, etc.

In fact he isnā€™t working in baseball at all, he just isnā€™t suspended anymore. Nothing to see here.

That this is masquerading as any kind of story at all while the Yankees letter remains mysteriously sealed is beyond fucked up.
