1st base open: Batter swings/misses strike 3, ball hits batter while he’s in the box.
Is the play dead after ball hits him or is it business as usual?

Anytime a pitched ball hits the batter, it’s an immediate dead ball which kills any play. No runners advance from the bases they occupied on the pitch, unless forced by the batter being awarded 1B.

They were very top heavy with no depth at all. They ended up so desperate for pitching they grabbed Arrieta and Velasquez off waivers
